New ADC Branding & Website

Recently wrapped up a new branding and web development project for Matthews, NC based construction/site development company "Advanced Development Concepts LLC."

This project started off with an updating to their current corporate identity. They didn't want to totally re-invent the wheel with their logo, because their current logo has some built-in recognition regionally with their customer base. Instead we decided to take the existing mark and give it a nice update to better reflect the size of their organization, and their professional capabilities. One of the most recognizable aspects of the logo is the use of sharp angles in the text and the crescent moon shape. This angle was further accentuated throughout the rest of the identity package in the letterhead, envelopes and also as a custom di-cut on the new business cards.

When it came down to the web development, ADC wanted to be portrayed as a modern, professional site development organization. Because of the stiff competition for development projects with other companies their size, ADC needed to stand out with a better identity that shows them in a more professional light than that of their competition. Through the use of a clean layout accentuated with dark blue and orange, the new ADC website is ready to show potential clients that this is a professional organization capable of handling any project.

To further the ease of updating the site, we implemented a custom Content Management System (CMS) that allows ADC employees to post new information, job openings, etc... at any time. Other functionality includes a photo gallery controlled through the CMS, online employment application, contact forms and the ability to be scaled to fit the future growth of the company.

We had a great time working with everyone at ADC on the new branding and web development projects. I hope your new identity serves you well!

On to the next project!

Sublmnl Design in the "Social Media World"

As I'm sure you've probably noticed, there hasn't been a ton of activity on this blog over the course of 2009. This isn't because it's just been a lazy year, or there hasn't been anything to report. Actually, quite the contrary! As we all know, 2009 hasn't been a good year for a lot of the large corporations dotted around this little country we call "America," but a funny outcome has happened with the slow/tight economy... the "little guys" like us have been given the opportunity to grow exponentially! So the lack of activity here hasn't been the outcome of our laziness, or lack of business... it's because there hasn't been a minute to spare lately!

With this growth on the business front, there has also been a growth of the Sublmnl Design social media presence. By using social media tools such as Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Linkedin, etc... we have learned a lot about using social media tools to market a business. Now, that's not to say that I'm calling myself one of the dime-a-dozen "social media experts" out there, but the use of these tools has given me some insight on how to best use these tools to help current and future clients. I hope to utilize some of these things for future clients, but please don't ever refer to me or anyone else as a "social media expert"... those don't exist.

So without further adieu... here are a few links to connect with me and Sublmnl Design in the social media world. Don't be shy, feel free to drop a line or connect... I promise we don't bite, and if we do you probably deserved it!

Advanced Body Solutions site is live!

We recently launched the new Advanced Body Solutions (ABS) website. ABS is a professional personal training service that is fast-becoming one of the largest personal training organizations in the Charlotte, NC area. Because of this explosive growth, and the need for a professional image for their organization, they decided that Sublmnl Design would be a good fit to achieve their goals.

The most important feature that ABS needed with this project, was the ability to control the site's content, and scale the site along with their current growth trends. To do this, we implemented a content management system (CMS) that would allow them to take control of the site and change things easily when needed.

Their second major need was the ability to post client testimonial and "trainers in action" videos. This is for potential customers to see first-hand how their training systems work and the outcome from those efforts straight from the mouth's of current clients.

In addition to the CMS, it was important that potential employees could actively communicate with the organization and apply online for employment. To do this we used an online application form that will allow applicants to enter their information and upload their resume to send directly to the HR manager for prompt responses when employment opportunities arise.

All-in-all, we feel this site turned out to be a successful solution to ABS' needs, and we wish them the best of luck! By the way, if you're in the market for personal training services... check out the before/after photos and read some of the testimonials on the site and give these guys a call!

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery website

Well... it seems it has been quite a while since I've gotten a chance to sign on and post some new work. Having said that... there have been a lot of good things going on over here in Sublmnl Design world. Case in point... I have been working very closely with the owners of Charlotte NC's newest microbrewery, "The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery" on many projects to get their brand ready to announce the Brewery's grand opening.

These projects have pretty much run the gammut of everything that launching a new brand entails. From final preparations on the logo and creating a brand image, to creating the right "look" needed for their advertising. All of that work has culmonated into the launch of the new OMB website.

The site is the outcome of a lot of planning, designing, redesigning, then designing again... and we think the outcome has really hit-home their message of being a premium brewery without the premium pricepoint. By way of a custom Content Management System, it will allow them to sign on and update the site with new information anytime they feel that burning desire to do so. Also, the inclusion of many cool, new Google applications makes the site completely seach engine friendly... not to mention simple to update (did I mention that already?)

All-in-all we're (both Sublmnl Design and OMB) very happy with the site's final product. That being said, take a moment and visit the new OMB site and check it out for yourself!
